LG is working on a wide panoramic information display that can give you a lot of data without compromising safety by putting the data on the glass itself. The smart windshield is one of many displays, appliances, and other devices that the company hopes will supply its future growth.

The company made the announcement at its press event at the 2016 International CES, the big tech trade show in Las Vegas this week.

Skott Ahn, president and chief technology officer of LG Electronics, said LG is also working on sensors that give drivers more information about the road ahead than the line-of-sight allows.

LG is also investing heavily in the Internet of Things, or making everyday objects smart and connected. LG has already partnered with Google on improved smart home technology.

Gayathri Rajan, vice president of product management at Google, said on stage that LG is a key strategic partner of Google’s on IoT. She said the companies are working on smart objects and are making sure privacy and security are built into connected devices.

The LG Signature brand for home consumer electronics is a uniform brand that stretches across a whole family of LG products, from smart dishwashers to coffee grinders to big-screen TVs.

You can use the connected LG appliances to confirm the freshness of the food with live sensors, Ahn said.
