Well, we haven’t heard much about Jelly, Twitter cofounder Biz Stone’s app for asking and answering questions, basically since it launched two years ago to the day. Today, we get an update.
In a Medium post today, Stone writes that the Jelly team is “returning to our original vision with renewed enthusiasm and an entirely new approach.” He calls it an “un-pivot.” (LOL, OK, Biz.)
Jelly was once available on iOS and Android, and both apps have disappeared. Stone says Jelly has been revamped in several ways, including that you no longer need an account if you want to ask a question on the app. Also, it’s coming to the Web.
“Asking Jelly is as familiar as a search engine but the engine part is the wondrous power of nice, helpful people,” Stone writes.

The new Jelly app is now available in a closed beta (reserve your username now!), and it’s launching more fully soon, writes Stone, who is Jelly’s cofounder and chief executive.
Before the “un-pivot,” Jelly’s investors included SV Angel, fellow Twitter cofounder Jack Dorsey, Bono, Reid Hoffman, Steven Johnson, Evan Williams, Al Gore, Greg Yaitanes, and Roya Mahoob. There apparently still is some money hanging around, as Stone concludes the Medium post by saying that Jelly is hiring.
