Google chief executive Sundar Pichai today announced that this year’s big Google I/O developer conference will be hosted at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, California, on May 18-20.
There’s some meaning behind the location.
“To celebrate our 10th anniversary of developer gatherings, we’ll be hosting I/O in our backyard at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, CA from May 18th-20th,” Pichai wrote in a Google+ post. “We’ll have 3 full days together to dive deep into developer content, code labs, and more.”
Shoreline is a widely known concert venue that sits 22,500. So there will be plenty of room for attendees — more room than the Moscone West facility in San Francisco where I/O has taken place in the past few years.
Pichai did not say when registration will begin.
