SurveyMonkey has reportedly found a new chief executive, naming its chairman and former GoPro executive Zander Lurie to the top spot. His predecessor, Bill Veghte, is no longer with the company after a falling out with investors over its direction.
The move was reported by Re/code. Lurie is the former head of GoPro’s entertainment division and had been on SurveyMonkey’s board since 2009. Following the death of the online survey provider’s CEO David Goldberg last year, Lurie stepped in as interim chief. He eventually rose to the rank of executive chairman after Veghte was hired.
It’s said that Veghte departed due to “differences of opinion on strategy” with SurveyMonkey’s investors, but what those were has not been disclosed.
Lurie said that he’s going to focus on delivering the direction that Veghte apparently didn’t want to pursue, and also hinted that SurveyMonkey could go public — although no specific timeline was laid out.
