This tax day in the United States, Nintendo will have something pleasant for all of you role-playing game fans.
Bravely Second: End Layer debuts on 3DS in North America on April 15. This is the sequel to the hit portable RPG Bravely Default from publisher Square Enix and developer Silicon Studio — Nintendo is publishing the game in the West. The original game earned a loyal following, and Nintendo is preparing a special collector’s edition release for those fans. Bravely Second: End Layer Collector’s Edition includes the game, a soundtrack, and a 250-page book of art. This release will also contribute to making the 3DS one of the best platforms for Japanese-style RPGs in 2016 along with Fire Emblem Fates, Final Fantasy Explorers, and Project X Zone 2.
End Layer tells a new story in the same universe as Bravely Default. It takes place 2.5 years after the events of the first game. This release will also feature the same turn-based battle system as the original where players can either “Brave” or “Default.” Defaulting enables players to skip taking an action for a turn to build up more power for later in the fight. Brave is the opposite, where characters can rapidly make multiple attacks and actions all at once.
