Imperson launches Zootopia’s Officer Judy Hopps bot on Facebook Messenger

Imperson is launching the lead character from Disney’s Zootopia movie, Officer Judy Hopps, as a chatbot on Facebook Messenger.

Starting today, fans can chat one-on-one with Judy in a crime-solving experience on Facebook’s messaging platform. Imperson is an alumnus of Disney’s own accelerator class from 2015. It has built a number of chatbots using artificial intelligence, with the goal of delivering in-depth and immersive storytelling experiences through conversational interfaces the company calls Chat Personas.

These bots can understand user language and complex signs (i.e., acronyms and emoticons). They can predict a user’s intent and retain relationship memory. Through complex algorithms, Imperson’s technology enables these bots to navigate the best conversation flow to achieve predetermined goals.

This is Imperson’s fourth chatbot in the entertainment industry, following successful campaigns that include Disney’s The Muppets (Miss Piggy) and Universal Studios’ Back to the Future (Doc Brown).
