You don’t have to wait for Final Fantasy XV to play a new entry in the series.
Square Enix has released Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius for iOS and Android today, an original, free-to-play role-playing game built for mobile. The mobile industry is worth $34.8 billion, and traditional gaming companies like Square Enix are eager for a piece of that money. That’s why the company is using one of its best-known franchises to establish a bigger foothold in the platform.
Square Enix has released mobile Final Fantasy games before, including ports of classics like Final Fantasy IX and original works like Record Keeper. Brave Exvius, however, is notable because it’s a new game that plays like a classic Final Fantasy, complete with 2D graphics and turn-based battles. The game even has its own computer graphic (CG) movies, which you see every time you use a Summon spell.
Brave Exvius has a cast of new characters, although familiar faces like Terra from Final Fantasy VI and Rydia from Final Fantasy IV can assist you in battle.
