I’m glad I have work as an excuse to play a game about princesses.
Disney has released a new mobile game today, Disney Princess: Charmed Adventures. The free-to-play app is available for iOS and Android. It includes interactive activities (aka minigames) with themes focused on each of the royal characters’ personalities as they earn charms (hence the name) to customize their bracelets. The princesses are some of Disney’s most popular characters, so giving them their own mobile game could create a hit in the $36 billion industry.
“Developed for kids ages 6 to 8, Disney Princess: Charmed Adventures lets players embark on journeys as Ariel, Belle, Rapunzel or Tiana as they adventure beyond the castle walls, complete fun and engaging tasks, and earn beautiful charms to collect and customize their digital charm bracelets.” Disney noted in a press release sent for GamesBeat. “In the game, players will complete activities that reflect the unique and admirable inner qualities of each featured princess, such as painting wall murals as Rapunzel, performing music shows as Ariel, mastering book memory games as Belle, preparing delicious recipes as Tiana, and more.”
Charmed Adventures brings back the original voice actors for Ariel, Rapunzel, and Tiana (I guess Belle’s was busy reading a book or something). Disney’s focus is very much on mobile these days, especially since it cancelled the Disney Infinity toys-to-life franchise.
