Blizzard has announced a new mode for Heroes of the Storm, its multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA) for PC. Named Hero Brawl, the upcoming addition offers players custom rules that each week. It’ll be available in the testing version of the game on October 10, with the full release following on October 17.

MOBAs are some of the most popular games on PC and have made a big splash on the growing esports scene, especially with hits like League of Legends of Dota 2 (the market’s two leaders). We don’t know how well Heroes of the Storm is doing since Blizzard doesn’t release player numbers, but it’s unlikely that it has reached the same level of success. New content like this, however, could bring in more people.

Blizzard has actually has similar “brawl” modes in some of its other releases, specifically the digital card game Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft and the team-based shooter Overwatch. They give players a chance to play a mode with rules that focus more on craziness and fun than fair, competitive play. Plus, since they change each week, brawl modes constantly give players something new to look forward to.

Hero Brawl will sometimes use modified versions of existing Heroes of the Storm battlegrounds, but Blizzard has also created three new arenas exclusive for the mode. It also noted that players can earn rewards each week, including in-game gold used to buy more heroes, by playing at least three Hero Brawls.
