We’ll get a taste of the new generation of Pokémon earlier than we thought.
The Pokémon Company announced today that the upcoming Sun and Moon versions of the popular monster-collecting series will get a demo for the Nintendo 3DS on October 18, one month before the games’ November 18 release date. Pokémon games have sold more than 279 million copies worldwide, and a free demo could get even more players on board for the next entries.
Not that Pokémon Sun and Moon need too much help. The series is enjoying a resurgence in popularity thanks to the Pokémon Go mobile game. Sun and Moon could be some of the best-selling games of the year.
The demo will feature Ash-Greninja, a special version of the frog-like Pokémon that appeared in the cartoon Pokémon the Series: XYZ. You can transfer Ash-Greninja from the demo to the full game.
The Pokémon Company also released a new trailer for Sun and Moon which shows of the first evolution of the starter Pokémon (the three you can choose from at the beginning of the game), which you can watch below.
