Ubisoft has revealed that the classic action-adventure game Beyond Good & Evil is available for free this month in the publisher’s digital PC games store, Uplay.
Beyond Good & Evil originally came out back in 2003 for PlayStation 2, Xbox, GameCube, and PC. Although the futuristic, Legend of Zelda-inspired title was a sales disappointment for Ubisoft, it received great reviews and a loyal following, eventually becoming a cult classic.
For years, Ubisoft has teased a sequel. We originally saw Beyond Good & Evil 2 via a trailer back in 2008. After that, the game seemed to disappear. Recently, however, the original’s director (Michel Ancel, who also created the Rayman franchise for Ubisoft) has shared Beyond Good & Evil 2 concept art on his Instagram.
But that sequel, if it ever comes out, is a long way off. In the meantime, we may as well enjoy the original for free.
