Electronic Arts is celebrating the launch of the first Star Wars live-action spinoff film and the one year anniversary of its Star Wars shooter with the launch of the game’s final expansion next month.
Players who own the season pass for Star Wars: Battlefront will get the Rogue One: Scarif add-on on December 6, EA announced today. This expansion will introduce maps, characters, and more from the upcoming Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which will roll into theaters in the United States on December 16. It will also introduce the X-Wing VR mission that is exclusive to Sony’s PlayStation VR headset.
The Rogue One: Scarif expansion comes with four maps. That includes a stage called “Beaches of Scarif,” which takes place on the tropical planet Scarif that you might’ve seen in the trailers for the Rogue One film. DICE is also adding Jin Erso and Orson Krennic, the main characters from Rogue One, as playable heroes. Players can also expect a brand new mode that brings space battles and ground fights together into one, multi-stage skirmish.
Finally, the VR mission will give players a chance to pilot an X-Wing in a dogfight. A number of VR games have featured similar mechanics including the Eve: Valkyrie launch release for PSVR, Oculus Rift, and HTC Vive.

Rogue One: Scarif is the fourth add-on for Battlefront, and that means it’s time for an “Ultimate Edition” version of the game that contains all of the DLC. EA confirmed Star Wars: Battlefront Ultimate Edition is available for purchase now.
