If Shigeru Miyamoto wants to retire from Nintendo, he could potentially find a new gig as a musician.
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon has invited Nintendo of America boss Reggie Fils-Aimé on to promote the upcoming iPhone game Super Mario Run. That mobile platformer will debut later this month, and the publisher is going to use the opportunity to show it off to a mass-market audience. Soon iPhone owners can download Super Mario Run for free, but it will have a single $10 price tag to unlock all of its content.
But Fils-Aimé is not the only Nintendo executive that will appear on Fallon. Mario creator and Nintendo creative director Shigeru Miyamoto is apparently going to make an appearance as well. In a preview for the episode that NBC put online earlier this evening, NBC teases “surprises from Nintendo” over a shot of Miyamoto sitting and playing guitar with Fallon’s house band, The Roots.
Above: Shiggy will also reportedly be taking over as Dos Equis’ most interesting man in the world.
Personally, while I love his games, I wouldn’t mind attending future concerts to see Shiggy and The Roots perform.
