Time is running out to get an NES Classic Edition before Christmas. If you still need one, you should plan on checking out Best Buy tomorrow.
The retailer says that it will have a limited number of the throwback consoles in-stock at many of its locations around the United States on Tuesday, December 20. Best Buy says it will treat this like a Black Friday deal. If you show up, you will get a ticket for one (and only one) and then it will hand the NES Classic Edition over to you for $60. Nintendo has already sold 196,000 NES Classics in the United States since it debuted November 11, and many people are still desperate to get one.
NES Classic Edition is a miniaturized version of Nintendo’s original 1980s 8-bit console. It looks exactly like the Nintendo Entertainment System, but it is less than a quarter of the size. The box also comes with 30 built-in NES games like Super Mario Bros., Mega Man 2, and Punch-Out.
While you may still have the opportunity to grab the NES Classic from other retailers before now and December 25, Best Buy is making it sound like this is the last shipment it is expecting before the big gift-giving holiday.

“Two of the most common questions we’ve gotten this holiday season are ‘Do you have the NES Classic edition?’ and ‘When will you get more?’” Best Buy gaming boss Amy College said. “So we know this is one of the year’s hottest gifts, and we’re excited to give gaming fans one more chance to bring one home for the holidays.”
Best Buy is doing this on a first-come-first-serve basis, so if you’re dumb like me and promised to get one for you nieces and nephews, you should probably get to the retailer before it opens up. Good luck.
