I'm not sure if Nintendo won E3…personally I think such competition misses the point of these events. I will say this, however: Nintendo probably gave us the least expected press conference. We were used to long diatribes about engaging the "expanded" audience, weird-ass peripherals, and complete disregard for gamer culture. So when Nintendo gave us loads of games, the 3DS reveal, and then more games…holy cow, I don't think anyone expected it. Here's what you missed, in limerick form:

There once was a company called Nintendo
That had many video games to show.
Did they win E3
With DS and the Wii?
Maybe a sports game with Mario?

Miyamoto is the jovial sort,
Who never leaves expectations short
A new Link game
With a sexy name,
But I like his ability to teleport.

What in the world was Retro up to?
Without Metroid, the game in lieu?
A 2D Donkey Kong
With a familiar song
Another renaissance is due?

Where in the world Cammy, that yuppie?
Is she no longer Reggie's small guppie?
Nowhere to be seen,
Her marketing sheen.
This press conference is without puppy.

What can we say about Nintendo 3DS?
Other than it seemed to impress?
Kid Icarus
Caused a ruckus.
Dozens of booth babes that were scantily dressed.

So many epic games went into the fray;
Mickey and Kirby went on display.
I've been told
Warren Spector is old,
But this is a lot of 2D to play.

Wii Party wasn't a megaton,
Leaving us say "It's been done"
Capturing casual hearts;
Top of the charts.
Maybe this time they'll package in fun.
