Hello Bitmob readers,
My name is Paul Gale, and I'm one of the moderators here. As you all know, the Electronic Entertainment Expo is hitting the Los Angeles Convention Center on June 15-17, and with that I would like to offer you my services.
My job is to bring E3 closer to you than ever before. So anytime between now and the end of the expo, if you come back to the comments in this article, you can ask me any question you can think of about anything going on at the show, and I will personally do my best to answer it.
Yes, that means I'll be replying back to every single question of every nature. Whether it's about how a particular game controlled, feedback on what a company's booth looked like, how a new hardware device felt in my hands, which booth babes looked the best, who did I meet, or anything else you can think of…I'll answer it.
I've been to the big show from 2000 to 2006, covered E for All in 2007 and 2008, then back to E3 in 2009. I've done similar Q&As all those times for sites ranging from Gamers.com to 1UP and now Bitmob.
As an added bonus, this year Nintendo invited me to their pre-E3 press conference on Tuesday, June 15, so I'll be covering that as well.
Register with Bitmob, and you'll be able to ask me any question you want below via the comments. Thanks!
If you're interested in seeing how my Q&A went last year, see here. But don't leave comments there by mistake for this year's show! This article is the correct one for E3 2010.
Q13) How is Gran Turismo 5?
A13) Man, it sure has taken a while for Sony to be "almost done" with this game, but I think that hardcore racing fans are going to be in for quite a treat this November. The racing feels tight, its frames per second are very solid, and I think it has a good chance at being a nice online racer. As for Move, it will be supported in the game as well as the use of 3D glasses.
Q12) Is a Metal Gear Solid 5 on the way?
A12) Metal Gear Rising is coming along, but as for another title in the Solid series, I don't know.
Q11) Is there a Mega Man Legends 3 coming anytime soon?
A11) Not officially, but I got the vibe that we'll be seeing more of Mega Man in the future, and not just via 8-Bit sequels.
Q10) What's the pace like in Marvel vs. Capcom 3 and how does it control?
A10) M vs C 3 has a bit pace of its own, but really feels like Tatsunoko vs. Capcom on steroids. It's fast, it moves well, and its controls are similar to its decade old predecessor.
Q9) Is Street Fighter 4 coming to DS?
A9) I've got one better for you. It's Super Street Fighter 4 3D and it's coming out on the Nintendo 3DS (which by the way is capable of producing some very high quality graphics). Just for comparisson's sake, I'll go ahead and say that the new Kid Icarus game looks as good as Twilight Princess, but the new Resident Evil: Revelations game, looks quite close to the quality of RE5. I'm ready for some handheld SF again!
Q8) Will old Xbox 360s work with Kinect?
A8) Yes.
Q7) What's new with Metal Gear Rising?
A7) Oh boy, by now you must have seen the new trailer…right? If not, please check it out, because it's pretty awesome. Oh and you'll be happy to know that Hideo Kojima is making a game from the Metal Gear franchise, for the Nintendo 3DS, too. :)
Q6) What are some promising, underdog games at E3?
A6) It's hard to be an underdog when you're coming out of the Nintendo camp, but Fling Smash was pretty enjoyable…now for the second year in a row. Comic Jumper, as I mentioned in answer #2 is pretty cool as well. I don't think I have a Top 10 just yet, but that's a good start. Oh, and from the team that brought us the Ace Attorney series, we're getting Ghost Trick for DS. I'm all behind that game.
Q5) Is there anything new coming from the Tex Murphy series?
A5) I looked throughout the show and didn't see anything. Sometimes I don't come back with great info, but I still try to at least find something. I'm sorry that I can not say, "yup, a new game's coming soon". :(
Q4) What's new with Super Street Fighter 4 DLC, Marvel vs. Capcom 3, and other fighters?
A4) Super Street Fighter 4 will be getting some additional DLC, so in time, more will be added (some of which will be free). Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is an awesome looking, very fast paced, fun game. It's like Tatsunoko vs Capcom and Marvel vs. Capcom 2, wrapped up in some HD goodness. Meanwhile, the next Mortal Kombat game totally reminds me of old school MK's 1-3, and I liked the demo quite a bit. King of Fighters XIII is still set to come out this year and looks great on both PS3 and Xbox 360. I haven't seen anything yet on Tekken 7, at the show.
Q3) Is Beyond Good and Evil 2 cancelled?
A3) I checked with Ubisoft, and fortunately, no…the game has not been cancelled, but is just not the proper time to show it off again.
Q2) How is Comic Jumper?
A2) Comic Jumper is shaping up just fine. I think it's going to be a well worth Xbox Live Arcade game to pick up. It reminds me a little of Vectorman, but with its own unique style and flavor.
Q1) What is Double Fine up to?
A1) Sadly, from my scouring the show floor to find out what I could, all I heard were the hopes of many, for another Psychonauts or Grim Fandango. If anything concrete pops up, I'll gladly repost right here.
