What KInect needs to warrant a purchase.

 

I’m not going to lie, the technology looks like a lot of fun. But I feel like the device is missing something. It’s missing an epic puzzle adventure game.

It needs a puzzle game. Not just any puzzle game, but it needs a puzzle game that drops you into a life-size room and forces you to solve it in order to escape. Give it a storyline if you want. You are an explorer in search for something on a distant planet and you get stuck in a facility. The only way out is to solve all these puzzles. You will be able to look around this room, move levers, climb walls, adjust giant stones on the floor, and whatever else puzzle solving Indiana Jones types do. Whatever it takes, someone needs to drop me into a puzzle game for Kinect.

I feel after watching the press conference today that Microsoft is dropping the ball on this one. For a company to be “pushing the envelope” in next gen gaming, they aren’t creating anything exciting. I’ve seen sports and fitness games on other consoles. How about creating something new and exciting for motion controls?
