“It’s not a sprint, it’s a marathon.” We’ve all heard this phrase at least once in our lifetime. Plan for the long haul; not the short one. For the mobile app world, that advice is considered biblical for strategizing a long-term customer engagement plan. But for mobile publishers big or small, knowing how to run doesn’t guarantee you’ll cross the finish line.

Take the example of Miitomo, the first mobile app game by Japanese gaming giant Nintendo. Eagerly anticipated by Nintendo fans and stockholders, Miitomo shot to No.1 on the iOS charts in less than 24 hours of its official release and racked up 1.6 million downloads in the U.S. during its first four days. Once the honeymoon was over, Miitomo dropped off the charts as a result of low user engagement and high churn. The Nintendo name wasn’t enough to keep users  engaged with the company’s first mobile game, demonstrating how vital crafting an effective engagement plan is for any mobile publisher.

Neglecting to create a robust strategy for increasing ARPU and LTV a fool’s errand, but identifying the necessary steps to take to ensure user loyalty isn’t always clear. You can’t build a devoted mobile audience if your app is synonymous with weak engagement, low social engagement, and poor user interface. Critical issues like these must be dealt with and in our upcoming VB Live event we’ll show you how.

We’ll be joined by Insert CEO Shahar Kaminitz as he details what publishers and marketers need to do to better engage users based on his experience running the first codeless mobile engagement platform. He’ll be joined by TJ Hunter, Senior Director of Consumer Marketing for Rosetta Stone’s Consumer Division. Expect an eye-opening discussion of how to turn one-time customers into lifetime users. The path to mobile success is a marathon; join our VB LIve event to ensure you’re not left behind after the starting pistol is shot.
