Songkick, a useful concert recommendation engine has closed a round of funding.
When we last spoke to the service, it was at the SXSW festival and it was very excited to launch its tools for helping music lovers find the shows they want to see. It also offers a distributed ad network which it cutely calls ‘BandSense’ (a play on Google’s AdSense).
The majority of the round came in January, however now the entire round is closed. SongKick chief executive Ian Hogarth declined to disclose the amount of the round, but we’ve heard it’s in the neighborhood of $1.1 million. The round was participated in by a group of personal investors including Saul Klein, a founding partner of The Accelerator Group (TAG).
The London, England and Brooklyn, NY-based Songkick was initially funded with a seed round in 2007 from Y Combinator.
