After selling to Twitter, Spindle founder joins Polaris as partner

Pat Kinsel, former CEO and cofounder of Spindle, is now a partner at Boston VC firm Polaris.

Kinsel previously served as an “entrepreneur-in-residence” at Polaris after selling social discovery service Spindle to Twitter less than a year ago. As we wrote at the time, “Spindle’s goal was to ‘make valuable social content more discoverable.'”

Before Spindle, Pat worked on Office, Bing, and incubator projects at Microsoft. Kinsel writes optimistically about his new role on his personal site:

My time at Polaris has convinced me that this is an incredible time to be a Series A investor. Given the surge of early stage companies looking for Series A capital, it’s an awesome time to partner with great companies that also interest me personally. I’ve searched through a lot of corners this past year and see so much opportunity.

Polaris’ portfolio includes companies like KissMetrics, Quantcast, and Automattic.
