Announcing our first batch of HealthBeat 2013 speakers

HealthBeat 2013HealthBeat 2013 is vintage VentureBeat, with a twist: It’s all the latest in technology and innovation you have come to expect, only this time we are doing a deep dive into health care.

We’re bringing the health care decision makers to the same room. We’ve invited hospital chief information officers, clinicians, and payers, and we’re mixing them with executives from tech companies that are transforming health care. This includes “big data” companies like Health Catalyst that are pinpointing where care can be improved by analyzing results from across the U.S. medical system.

We just got back from the big HIMMS tech fest in New Orleans and are inviting the most disruptive technologies we found there, too, to HealthBeat. We stumbled upon a tablet project under development by the Cleveland Clinic that helps visualize health medical records in new, dynamic ways — based on help from vendors like Microsoft and Intel. We’ll also be unveiling new start ups that are reforming health care, Silicon Valley-style. And it wouldn’t be a health care conference if we didn’t include patients. We’re bringing in trendsetters in the patient activation sphere too.
