Apple announces Apple Pay is available in 700K locations in U.S.

Today at Apple’s Spring Forward event, CEO Tim Cook announced that Apple Pay is now accepted at 700,000 locations around the U.S.

He also noted a new venue for Apple Pay: vending machines. Cook says that Coca-Cola now accepts Apple Pay at 40,000 vending machines.

Much of the criticism against Apple Pay is that not enough merchants accept the mobile payment method. But with these latest numbers Apple is showing the public that it is working to get its tap-to-pay technology out and relevant.
