Apple announced that it is working with 25 app developers, ranging from Angry Birds to Kim Kardashian, for a holiday campaign to raise money for U2 frontman Bono’s Global Fund to fight AIDS.

“For eight years, our customers have been helping fight AIDS in Africa by funding life-saving treatments,” said Apple chief executive Tim Cook in a statement. “This year we are launching our biggest fundraising push yet with the participation of Apple’s retail and online stores, and some of the brightest minds in the App Store are lending their talents to the effort as well.”

Apple says it has raised $75 million for the cause over the past eight years. Now, it’s launching a new twist with the “Apps for (RED)” campaign. The company says any time a customer buys certain apps or certain virtual goods within those apps, the money will go to the Global Fund.

In addition, customers who purchase some Apple products on Black Friday will get a (RED) iTunes gift card, with Apple giving some percentage to the fund.
