Apple just posted a video of its people at San Francisco’s Pride Parade

Apple wants the world to know what its employees were up to at the San Francisco Pride parade in San Francisco this past Sunday. So it produced and posted a snappy video of the event.

According to a tweet from Apple CEO Tim Cook over the weekend, more than 8,000 Apple employees (and friends and family) participated in the event.

Apple produced a similar video of its people at last year’s parade.

Apple has long been a supporter of LGBT causes, but has gradually amped up its voice in recent years.

In March Cook penned an op-ed for the Washington Post that criticized a growing movement of state legislation that would allow businesses to discriminate against gays and lesbians.

The company’s CEO Tim Cook announced he is gay in a Businessweek essay last October.

The parade has been held every year since 1972 under various names: “Christopher Street West” in 1972, “Gay Freedom Day” from 1973 to 1980, then “International Lesbian & Gay Freedom Day Parade” from 1981 to 1994, and finally, its present appellation, the San Francisco Lesbian Gay Bisexual Transgender Pride Celebration.
