Apple is “voluntarily” recalling certain Mac and iOS AC wall plug adapters made “for use in Continental Europe, Australia, New Zealand, Korea, Argentina and Brazil.”
If you bought a Mac, iPhone, or iPad in any of those regions — or an Apple power adapter or travel kit — over the last 12 years, you may want to call the company or stop by an Apple Store for an exchange. If you don’t, Apple says, your adapter “may break and create a risk of electrical shock if touched,” but only “in very rare cases.”
If your adapter breaks, please do not touch the metal prongs.
This recall follow’s Microsoft’s announcement earlier this month to replace defective Surface Pro power cords.
