Apple releases iOS 10.2 public beta 3

Apple today started rolling out the third public beta of iOS 10.2, just a few days after issuing the second public beta of the update to iOS 10.

Among other things, today’s release includes the TV app that Apple talked about at its MacBook Pro event a few weeks ago, and now the app has an Up Next feature. There are new options for the TV app in Settings. The SOS feature that was introduced in iOS 10.2 public beta 2 has been restricted to India, according to MacRumors. Also, now you can send messages “with love” — a big heart will show up in the background — in the Messages app, according to 9to5Mac.

The iOS 10.2 update will eventually become available to everyone, just as iOS 10.1 did last month. But if you want to check out this update before most other people see it, you can install it by going to Settings > General > Software Update if you’re a member of Apple’s Beta Software Program. Apple released iOS 10 for everyone in September. It includes revamped Apple Maps, Apple Music, Messages, and Photos apps, along with a new Home app, QuickType predictions featuring the intelligence of the Siri virtual assistant, and the ability for third-party apps to integrate with Siri.

According to Apple, which cites App Store data, 60 percent of iOS devices were running iOS 10 as of October 25. Meanwhile, just 0.3 percent of Android devices were running Android Nougat as of November 7, Google said.
