Today at its keynote event in Cupertino, California, Apple announced that there are now 1.3 million apps in the App Store.
This figure is up from stats released in June, when Apple revealed that there were 1.2 million iOS apps published to date. In January, Apple said there were 1 million iOS apps in the App Store, 500,000 of which were native to Apple’s iPad.
Clearly this is not a game-changing milestone, but it shows that Apple’s App Store growth rate has not yet slowed to a halt. Apple appears to be adding approximately 100,000 apps every two to three months.
