Apple WWDC numbers: app store, retail, developers, and more

Apple’s big World Wide Developer’s Conference kicked off today in San Francisco. And in the morning keynote, Apple CEO Tim Cook laid out the big numbers.

    • 1 million visitors per day

    • 90 percent of apps see at least one download each month

    • 575 million store accounts (more than another Internet store)

    • 600 million sold
  • iCloud, iTunes, Game Center
    • 300 million accounts
    • 35 billion downloads of iTunes content
    • 240,000 million users of Game Center

    • 72 million installed base
    • 100 percent growth in the last five years, versus 18% PC growth

    • Apple has paid $10 billion to developers

Apple recently passed the 50 billion apps downloaded milestone, the first mobile platform to hit that mark. Google’s Android passed 48 billion recently but is growing faster than iOS and looks to pass Apple in total app downloads by September of this year.
