Podcast-creation app Bumpers launched today with a $1 million seed investment led by Spark Capital.
The New York-based startup lets users create and edit original audio content using their phone. Bumpers’ iOS app features automatic background noise cancellation, a voice equalizer, and options for music and loops to help users create smooth podcasts.

“Unlike vlogging and traditional podcasts, Bumpers lets people focus solely on storytelling, and makes the experience feel more spontaneous, less scripted and more relatable,” said Bumpers CEO Ian Ownbey. “In a short time, we’ve been able to grow a passionate community of creators, and this new funding will allow us to continue innovating on our app, which is the easiest tool for creating and editing a podcast.”
