DEMO: Andrew Mason reveals Groupon’s secrets (video)

VentureBeat executive editor Owen Thomas interviewed Groupon founder Andrew Mason on stage at the DEMO Fall 2010. Groupon is the group-buying phenomenon that recently raised $135 million from Digital Sky Technologies and is reportedly making tens of millions of dollars a month.

The company caters to local businesses by creating special offers that Groupon users can purchase as a group. As a result, it has turned into an advertising juggernaut. Mason talked with Thomas (see our post about the talk) about how that happened and his own advice for others when it comes to starting up a new business.
