Ideas are easy. Execution is difficult. In game development, when the idea people need help delivering a final product, they might sometimes call in Disbelief LLC.

The core tech team that worked on BioShock Infinite at Irrational Games has stuck together and formed the company Disbelief with the goal of helping other studios ship their games. Previously known as CodeBeast, this group has helped get projects like Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, and Oculus Dreamdeck out to consumers. Now, as Disbelief, the company is ready to take on its next set of challenges by offering up its services to the rest of the industry.

“Whether a big or small team, homebrew engine or off the shelf, all games face technical challenges,” Disbelief chief technical officer Steve Anichini said. “Our deep technical knowledge helps our clients focus on what makes their experiences unique, rather than getting bogged down in technical problems.”

Disbelief promises expertise in building graphics, physics, and other systems. It can also develop for virtual reality, fix bugs, and handle ports. The idea is to turn over the tough tech work to Anichini and his team. That way, studios can focus on creativity and design.
