Edward Snowden will be telepresent at SXSW in a video call with American Civil Liberties Union principal technologist Christopher Soghoian.

Formally announced on SXSW’s Interactive blog, the event organizers share that Snowden will discuss the “impact of the NSA’s spying efforts on the technology community, and the ways in which technology can help to protect us from mass surveillance.”

Also available as a livestream, the talk will certainly be noteworthy — Snowden has only spoken publicly a few times since the NSA scandal first arose. That said, because the ACLU is moderating the talk, don’t expect it to be much of a debate.
