London-born YPlan is heading west to be the social network for your night out.

After launching in New York, YPlan is expanding to San Francisco — the startup’s second city since raising $12 million from General Catalyst Partners and Ashton Kutcher’s A-Grade Investments. With this expansion, YPlan will debut a new feature: the ability to rate events.

Two months in the making, YPlan’s first push in California is marked by an exclusive ticketing deal with the Noise music festival. The partnership and event rating feature round out a noteworthy yet predictable expansion by YPlan. In six weeks’ time, however, YPlan has grander intentions.

Cofounder Vik Jucikas says YPlan will soon add profiles that “show conversations” in the app. Jucikas claims this “social component is fundamental in a service like [YPlan].”

“We don’t want you to feel alone in the app,” says Jucikas.

In addition to these upcoming features, Jucikas tells VentureBeat that YPlan will launch in “six or seven new cities this year,” with a focus on the West Coast. “We’re now hiring out there for LA and Vegas,” says Jucikas. Further down the road, YPlan has its eyes on Boston, DC, Chicago, and Austin. According to Jucikas, “it all depends on the ability to hire smart people to launch in other cities.”
