The ubiquitous note-taking service Evernote is continuing the trend of being available just about everywhere with the launch of a gorgeous new Windows Phone 7 app today.
While it’s taken a while for Evernote to deliver the app, it looks like the wait was worth it for Windows Phone 7 users. The new app features a stylish design that blows the iOS and Android Evernote offerings out of the water, and it even sports a nifty note mapping feature not available on any other platform.
Evernote basically functions as a digital scrapbook. The service lets you file a note on any of its apps — including a web app for desktops and native clients for Windows and Mac computers. You can include pictures, voice recordings, and more, and get access to them on any platform with an Evernote app.
The main screen of the app features the “Home Panorama” (screenshot above), which includes access to notes, notebooks, tags, and recent notes panels. Every screen on the Evernote app also sports an “application bar” that houses additional functionality. Like previous Evernote apps, it also lets you easily search your notes — including text from images you’ve uploaded. Notes can be shared over Facebook or email.

The app also allows you to store location information in your notes and view them on a map. Doing so could help you remember where you filed a particular note, since it serves as a way to leave digital breadcrumbs. Currently, this feature doesn’t exist in other mobile Evernote apps.
I haven’t had a chance to play around with the app yet, but it looks like a good start for Evernote’s Windows Phone 7 support. From the screenshots alone, the app looks more polished than any other mobile Evernote offering — though I’m certainly hoping we see revamped iOS and Android apps on the horizon as well.
