Giant social network Facebook is tentatively planning to unveil a native mobile ad network later this month, reports Re/code.

The mobile ad network is something people have been asking Facebook for for quite a while, as the company would be able to leverage its very active user base.

The move is hardly surprising. Last month Facebook decided to bring all its mobile ad analytics in-house, as VentureBeat reported. Also, competitors like Twitter are beefing up their mobile ad strategy, which could push Facebook to move faster on its own plans.

Re/code reports that the company will make the announcement about the new ad network during its F8 event, which invites Facebook developers and other publishers to get a look at what the company has planned for the coming year.
