Facebook users can now vote on their favorite out of 25 third-party applications selected by Facebook and its investors to be eligible for $225,000 each in funding. It’s the latest stage of the fbFund program, designed by Facebook to give the most small apps a shot at getting large. Each app developer outfit has already received $25,000 grant and mentorship from Facebook. The five apps with the most votes from users will get the big prize.
You can vote for one app per day until the contest closes on November 30; winners will be announced on the week of December 13.
I’ve already picked two of my favorites:
Teach the People (top video): An app designed help Facebook users teach each other new information.
AI Weekly
The must-read newsletter for AI and Big Data industry written by Khari Johnson, Kyle Wiggers, and Seth Colaner.
Included with VentureBeat Insider and VentureBeat VIP memberships.
Kontagent (bottom video): An analytics service for other apps, that lets developers closely examine complex data sets about app usage, so they can design more features that people want.
You can vote, check out short videos for all of the apps by installing the fbFund app on your Facebook account.
