Facebook is shutting down FriendFeed, the small, News Feed-like social network it purchased in 2009.
In a blog post today, FriendFeed noted, “We’ve been maintaining the service since we joined Facebook five years ago, but the number of people using FriendFeed has been steadily declining.”

FriendFeed said it will no longer be accepting new users, and that existing users have until April 9 to view their posts, messages, and photos. After that, the service will shut down entirely.
