Facebook knows that the main topic of conversation in the U.S. and much of the world on Sunday will surround a certain football game, so it wants to be your personal curator for the Super Bowl.
Today, Facebook unveiled plans for a Super Bowl-related page where it will collect football-related chatter from your friends and others in your network, along with photos, videos, expert commentary, and more — including the score of the contest between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots.
Facebook is more than aware how many people want to talk about things like the NFL’s championship game, and it wants to be the home for that conversation. It said that 50 million people talked about the Super Bowl on Facebook a year ago.
Users can add their voice to the conversation by including the phrase “watching Super Bowl XLIX” in their updates.
