Facebook’s new Business Manager throws agency & enterprise users a bone

Facebook is trying to woo two of its most valuable revenue sources: agencies and enterprise users.

Today, the company announced Business Manager, “a tool that lets large advertisers manage all of their ad accounts, Pages, apps and permissions in one place,” according to an official blog post. The new tools simplify the large volume of advertising and marketing work that agencies and large enterprises manage on a regular basis.

Business Manager is essentially a central hub from which a person or even team can control all advertising and app activity, including the Pages, ad accounts, and apps linked to one’s brand; who on the team can access these items and their individual permissions; and the external agencies and Preferred Marketing Developers with access to these assets.

The new Business Manager aims to make an advertiser’s workflow more streamlined, enabling admins to add or delete items and permissions and making it easier for employees and partners to see what they’re working on.

Business Manager is also a big step in separating the personal and business Facebook experience. People can now use their Facebook login to manager their business needs, yet they won’t need to be friends with colleagues and partners (or get their personal account email) in order to give or gain access.

Facebook says it’s making this new tool available to a “limited number of U.S. advertisers” and is planning on rolling it out internationally within the next few weeks.
