In some cases, banks have simply left a gap in servicing the small business segment because of other priorities. These gaps have opened the door to non-bank financial technology solutions to fill the growing needs of this market.

This type of technology partnership – between companies like Kabbage and Paychex, third-parties like Yodlee Interactive, and the traditional financial institution (FI) community – is enabling the proliferation of financial technology innovation for small businesses in a range of areas from lending to budgeting, payroll, invoicing, on-site sales, inventory management, expense management, and more.
