Photography social network Flickr has unveiled a new paid plan for users called Flickr Pro. The company hopes existing and new users will find it worth paying for since it includes discounts on Adobe software, improved analytics, and even a Pro badge.
Available for $5.99 per month (or $49.99 per year), Flickr Pro is the company’s enticement to convert more users to paid ones. For yearly subscribers — not those monthly — Flickr offers a 20 percent discount on Adobe Creative Cloud’s Photography plan. Also, the service offers free shipping in the U.S. on Flickr merchandise or 50 percent off international shipping with a $25 minimum purchase.

Photographers can take advantage of improved navigation for viewing data on their photos, and they can receive more insights on their “most popular and impactful photos.”
Of course, Flickr Pro also gets rid of the ads throughout the site.

Lastly, as a measure of bragging about having Flickr Pro, all subscribers will receive a badge on their account.
If you’re interested in Flickr Pro and are already a paying customer, Flickr can automatically upgrade you to the new Pro and says you’ll keep your existing pricing and unlimited space. Flickr Ad-Free account holders will be automatically upgraded to the new Flickr Pro with no change in price or renewal date.
The debut of this new plan comes just over two years since Flickr’s last major update. At that time, the company announced it was discontinuing its Pro account, but enabled those current subscribers to continue to renew their plan. In its place, Flickr added three new annual plans: the Free, Ad-Free, and Doublr plan. The difference was mainly in the price, as Ad-Free was $49.99 per year while Doublr was $499.99.
It’s worth noting that the new Flickr Pro does not include any additional storage space.
