Following $1.5B acquisition, LinkedIn now offers a free trial to Lynda.com

LinkedIn’s acquisition of Lynda.com is finally bearing fruit. The professional network is now offering members free access to Lynda’s online courses for a trial period.

Premium members will get 30-day access, while non-paying users can try out courses for 21 days. Lynda also has a 10-day trial for anyone interested in perusing its classes.

In April, LinkedIn acquired Lynda.com for $1.5 billion. For over 20 years Lynda has been a mecca for instruction, tutorials, and workshops on a variety of tools for designers, coders, video editors, photographers, and entrepreneurs. Today the site offers directions on everything from designing an Apple Watch app to managing a business.

For LinkedIn, Lynda will bring more premium content to its customers. The site not only wants to serve as the home for your resume and a place to network, but also as a source for career-building tools.
