Foursquare’s iPad app is now available in the App Store

Foursquare’s iPad app is finally live in the App Store, the company announced today.

A week and a half ago, the company’s chief revenue officer Steven Rosenblatt announced that the company would soon release an iPad app for Foursquare (not Swarm), its service for discovering and looking up places.

The app is pretty similar to the smartphone app that users already know, and the company is marketing it as a great tool for planning their travels. Foursquare writes:

It’s focused on helping you plan smarter. Choose your city, and you’ll get a personalized list of all the great places there. And, with one tap, you can easily save anything you like to your dream itinerary.

Moreover, the app has an additional section that shows all the top picks in that particular area:

Using all of Foursquare’s data, it suggests places that are newly popular, up-and-coming, and local mainstays. It also has suggestions for travel destinations; from must-see sights to hidden gems in most of the largest cities and neighborhoods around the world. It’s the perfect way to get inspiration for your next getaway (whether it be real or just for your bucket list).

With that said, the company has no plans to release an iPad app for Swarm, the check-in service it split off a few months ago, Rosenblatt said when he announced the iPad app.
