HP Ventures backs data-integration startup Tamr in $25.2M round

Tamr, a startup with software for connecting data sets, announced today a $25.2 million round. Several strategic investors are participating: HP Ventures, Thomson Reuters, and MassMutual Ventures, the venture arm of Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Co.

In addition to the strategic investors in the new round, existing investors Google Ventures and New Enterprise Associates also participated, as did SineWave Ventures and Work-Bench Ventures. To date the startup has raised $42.4 million.

Mayvenn takes in $10M round led by Andreessen Horowitz

Andreessen Horowitz led a $10 million round for Mayvenn’s hair extension ecommerce business. Mayvenn says it is disrupting the “$5 billion market that stylists have previously been boxed out of by distributors and beauty supply shops.” The company distributes the hair extensions directly to hair professionals and saloons, helping reduce the cost.

Trinity Ventures, Core Innovation Capital, and Cross Culture Ventures, among others, also participated in the round. A16Z’s general partner Ben Horowitz and Transition’s founder and CEO Steve Stoute will join Mayvenn’s board as observers.

Data analytics software Komprise raises $6M

Komprise, a company that develops data management software, announced yesterday that it raised $6 million in a round led by Cannan Partners. The funds will be use to enhance Komprise’s software and grow the engineering, sales and marketing teams.
