With $53M, flash storage startup Kaminario will keep challenging incumbents
Kaminario, a startup that sells all-flash storage hardware for companies’ data centers, can now put more muscle into its marketing, thanks to a new $53 million round.
Lazarus Hedge Fund and Silicon Valley Bank and “a large public company” contributed to the new round, according to a statement, as did Globespan Capital Partners, Mitsui, Pitango Venture Capital, Sequoia Capital, and Tenaya Capital. To date Kaminario has raised $128 million.
SendGrid nabs $21M and proclaims company emails are here to stay
If email is on the way out, the investors who have just ponied up $20.7 million to email delivery platform SendGrid apparently haven’t gotten the message.
The C round funding, announced today, was raised from Bain Capital Ventures and previous investors Bessemer Venture Partners and Foundry Group. It brings the total raised by the Boulder, Colorado-based company to $48 million.
Mobile browser company CloudMosa secures $18M
CloudMosa — the California-based maker of Puffin, a cloud-powered mobile browser — today revealed it has secured at least $18 million in funding and may raise $4.9 million more as it charges past the 25 million user mark.
Rocket Internet’s on-demand home cleaning service Helpling raises $17M
Helpling, the German-based startup, is only eight months-old, yet announced today that it has already raised $17 million in new funding. (See our Helpling profile here.)
Mobile security platform Viaforensics rebrands as NowSecure, collects $12.5M
Mobile security firm NowSecure just landed $12.5 million in its first round of funding. The bootstrapped company launched five years ago in 2009 as Viaforensics, and today it’s rebranding itself as NowSecure. This round was led by Baird Capital’s Venture Capital group.
Ad2games finishes $9 million financing round
The online games marketing platform creator announced today that it has finished a $9 million Series A financing round which included venture capital firms 3TS Capital Partners, HitFox Group, and its own management team.
Knightscope, maker of crime-predicting robots, raises $5.2M
Today Mountain View, California-based Knightscope announced it has secured $5.2 million in capital from NTT DoCoMo Ventures, Konica Minolta, and Flextronics.

Veniam picks up $4.9M to turn buses, cabs, and any car into a hotspot
Veniam, a Portuguese startup working on providing free Wi-Fi in urban environments, is announcing it has raised $4.9 million in new funding. True Ventures led the round, with participation from Union Square Ventures, Cane Investments, and other investors.
ChangeTip grabs $3.5M
ChangeTip, a Bitcoin-enabled social media tipping tool, announced it has raised $3.5 million in new funding. Pantera Capital is led the round, with additional participation from Bold Start Ventures, DCG, CryptoCurrency Partners, 500 Startups, and others.

Kandid raises $1.4M
Kandid, a Florida-based anonymous sharing app for students, announced it has raised $1.4 million in new funding from undisclosed investors. The company claims it already has a presence on 350 college campuses.

iQuantifi nabs $1M to help millenials take control of their finances
iQuantifi, calling itself a “virtual financial advisor” for millenials, today announced a $1 million raise from undisclosed angel investors. The Nashville, Tennessee-based company details that its new funds will be used to expand its “partnerships with financial institutions,” alongside enhancements to its product.
