BuzzFeed expands into TV and movies with $200M NBCUniversal investment
After weeks of rumors, listicle-loving BuzzFeed has confirmed that entertainment giant NBCUniversal is making a $200 million equity investment in the new media company.

Revel Systems adds $13.5M to its Series C, says its valuation is ‘north of $500M’
Revel Systems isn’t done raising money for its latest investment round. The company announced that approximately $13.5 million has been raised from Roth Capital Partners for its iPad point-of-sale platform. This new investment brings Revel’s series C round to approximately $110 million, with a proclaimed valuation of north of $500 million.
To date, the company has raised nearly $130 million in funding.
OpenStack startup Platform9 takes on $10M, adds vSphere virtualization support
Platform9, a startup that offers a cloud-based service for running the most up-to-date version of the OpenStack open-source cloud software to be deployed in companies’ on-premises data centers, announced today a $10 million funding round.
Platform9 started in 2013 and is based in Sunnyvale, California. To date the startup has raised $14.5 million.
Menlo Ventures led the new round. Previous investor Redpoint Ventures also participated.

API development startup Apiary raises $6.8M and launches a testing service
Apiary, a startup with a web service developers can use to design and make documentation for application programming interfaces, announced today a $6.8 million round of funding.
The startup today is also launching a new tool for testing APIs to make sure they work as they should. It’s like a continuous integration system for testing and deploying source code, but it’s for APIs.
Flybridge led the new round. Baseline Ventures and Credo Ventures also participated.
