Numerify closes a $37.5M round

Analytics provider for IT businesses, Numerify, announced today that it closed a $37.5 million series C funding round. Tenaya Capital led the round, while previous investors Sequoia Capital and Lightspeed Venture Partners followed.

The investment will be used on expansion in the North American and European markets.

Silicon Valley Bank and Four Rivers Group joined the round as well, which sets the company’s total funds to at least $60 million.

Former Google exec raises $28M to start shipping his smart payment terminals

Last year, Osama Bedier introduced what he deemed the future of payment terminals: a developer-friendly payment point of sale that accepts everything from Apple Pay to Samsung Pay, Android Pay, and chip-based credit cards.

To deliver on the promise of the new payment terminal, Poynt needs to ramp up manufacturing.

Today, the company is announcing a series B round of $28 million to help it build and ship terminals before the year is out. Growth equity fund Oak HC/FT led the round. Stanford-StartX Fund, Matrix Partners, Webb Investment Network, and Nyca Partners also contributed.

Startupy fashion company Betabrand raises $15M

San Francisco-based fashion label Betabrand, the startup that brings you the Dress Pant Yoga Pants, announced today that it has closed $15 million in funding from Morgan Stanley and Foundry Group. Betabrand is not your usual clothing brand; the startup crowdsources designs and then jumps into production, creating items like the Best Travel Pants and the Women’s Activewear Casual Blazer.

Periscope Data launches data analysis platform and $9.5M round

Periscope Data closed its series A round with $9.5 million in its pocket, the company announced today. The investment was led by DFJ, and partner Josh Stein will join Periscope Data’s board. The startup also announced its platform for scientists to run analyses on SQL-based databases. Marissa Mayer, Ellen Pao, and Google Ventures are among some of the data startup’s investors.

Learning service for future developers takes in $2M seed round

Outlearn, a publishing platform that curates content for developers-on-the-make, announced today that it took in $2 million in seed funding from General Catalyst Partners. The startup officially launched its service, which includes a premium learning for teams starting at $15 per person per month.
