Figma, a startup that has built a web-based tool for user interface design that allows for many simultaneous users, is announcing today a $14 million round of funding. Greylock Partners is leading the round.

Investors, in addition to Greylock Partners, include Iconiq Capital, Index Ventures, OATV, Soleio Cuervo, Adam Nash, DJ Patil, and Jeff Weiner.

Baobab Studios aims to tell animated stories in VR, with $6M in funding

Baobab Studios has raised $6 million as part of its plan to usher in a new era of virtual reality animated stories. The funding shows that VR is becoming a new entertainment medium that blends the film, tech, and gaming industries.

The Redwood City, California-based company is a new kind of film studio, backed by heavy hitters such as HTC, Samsung Ventures, Zynga cofounder Mark Pincus, PayPal cofounder Peter Thiel, Advancit Capital, Chernin Group, and Freelands Ventures.

uMake raises $4.5M series A for its 3D sketching iOS app

uMake, creators of a 3D sketching tool of the same name for the iOS platform, announced today that they have scored $5.2 million in series A funding. This round of fundraising, led by BlueRun Ventures, includes a number of other investors, including AngelList and UpWest Labs.
