Smartphone card reader company Clip secures $5.2M
Redwood City, California-based Clip revealed on Christmas Eve that it has secured at least $5.2 million in funding. The news was revealed in a public filing with the SEC. The company, which makes a Square-esque smartphone card reader, may raise $3 million more, according to the filing.

Calling itself “the best way to learn a language,” San Francisco-based Verbling announced it has secured at least $3.5 million in a Christmas Eve filing with the SEC.
