AppMachine raises $15M to help non-coders build apps

Hassle-free “build your own app” startup AppMachine has announced a $15.2 million funding round, with web-hosting and domain registration behemoth Endurance International Group procuring 40 percent of the company’s shares.

The Netherlands-based startup was founded in 2011, and today claims north of 150,000 users in 140 countries.

Advertising-analytics startup Metamarkets picks up $15M

Metamarkets, a startup with increasingly popular programmatic advertising analytics software for ad exchanges, ad sellers, and ad buyers, has taken on $15 million in new funding. Data Collective led the new round in the startup. John Battelle, City National Bank, IA Ventures, Khosla Ventures, True Ventures, and Village Ventures also participated.

CamFind raises $5M and launches its image-recognition API

Image-recognition technology startup CamFind has announced a $4.8 million funding round as it launches a new public API called CloudSight.

We last covered CamFind back in September, just as the Los Angeles-based company introduced a version of its software for Google Glass that enabled a Glass user to look at an unfamiliar “thing” — be it an object, animal, or landmark — and know instantly what it is, thanks to CamFind’s visual search engine. This was in addition to its existing standalone mobile apps for Android and iOS.

Briefs brand Mack Weldon today announced a $4 million raise led by undisclosed existing investors, RiverPark Ventures, Bridge Investments, and Lyrical Partners. At nearly three years old, the New York brand says it’ll use the new funds for growth.

Pebble’s new smartwatch breaks Kickstarter records, raising $1M in just 34 minutes

Just 34 minutes after launching on Kickstarter, Pebble’s new Pebble Time smartwatch has already secured over $1 million in pre-orders, easily clearing its original $500,000 goal.
